Born in 1969 in the Buhera District of Manica land in Zimbabwe’ Nesbert began studying sculpture in 1987,under the guidance and mentorship of his uncle,Nicholas Mukomberanwa, a world acclaimed artist of the Shona SculpturMovement. Within two years,Nesbert felt that he had attained enough experience and exposurto work independently of his uncle enabling him to develop and pursue his own style.He went on to establish his own studio at his home in Chitungwiza,where he worked for 10 years and developed a distinctive style which gained him international recognition. In 1998 Nesbert relocated to the countryside.There he felt at peace with nature and could free his mind to concentrate fully on his art.He went on to establish“The Village Gallery”,where he displayed his work and that of other selected artists from Chitungwiza. His work is also displayed at Chitungwiza Art Centre.Notable exhibitions include, Reece Gallery(USA) with Henry Munyaradzi and Nicholas Mukomberanwa among others(2005), “Formversus Content” Franco Namibian Cultural Centre, Windhoek,Namibia(2004), Group exhibition and solo workshops in Memphis, USA (2002
